Whether you’re preparing for the next step in your business, finance or accounting career or want to make a transition from your current field, our Master of Science in Financial Analysis (MSFA) was designed to position you to succeed in your endeavors. The MSFA is better, faster, and more affordable than an MBA and will also prepare you for many certifications, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA), which will increase your career opportunities and boost your earning potential. Coursework for this program is predominantly online, but features a unique two-week Summer Residency (beginning Summer 2021) program designed to provide students with networking and relationship-building opportunities.

*Students will complete supplemental online learning modules prior to the start of the program. Content prepares incoming students for the quantitative demands of the master’s curriculum and will cover topics including accounting, finance, economics, statistics, and Excel.
As part of our commitment to your success, the MSFA program includes an intensive, interactive learning residency program for two weeks during the summer. In addition to in-person classes, you’ll also take advantage of incredible opportunities to network and build relationships with your peers from a variety of backgrounds and executive-level guest speakers in both formal and casual settings.

Alexander Lowry brings an unusual “bilingual” perspective to the academic world, having spent 15 years in senior executive positions in international business and finance.
Alexander joined Gordon from J.P. Morgan Chase. In four and a half years at the bank, he served in senior roles ranging from deputy to the chief operating officer of the U.S. Private Bank to his recent role helping lead the firm’s private foundation. Supporting the deputy director, Alexander led a wide range of management and administrative functions to help direct the firm’s global philanthropic investments, giving and investing $240 million annually across 40 countries.

Alice spent most of her career as a fixed income analyst, covering municipal and taxable bonds issued by states and municipalities, utilities, bank holding companies and insurance companies. Alice’s analysis expertise spans corporate, public and structured finance.
Throughout her long business career at several industry leaders, she had worked closely with issuers, investment bankers, bond counsels, portfolio managers, traders and financial advisors. This has allowed her to bring valuable insights to students’ professional development, which has led to a number of exciting initiatives at Gordon, including the Hong Kong Summer Finance Seminar, that have benefited students greatly in their career launches.

Dr. Howell is senior partner of the Howell Group, LLC. He also was the David T. McLaughlin Distinguished Visiting Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, until his retirement in 2015. Previously, he held professorial appointments at Harvard Business School, New York University, IMD–International Institute for Management Development (Lausanne, Switzerland); Thunderbird, and The American Graduate School of International Management.
He is one of the foremost authorities in the world on the changing role of finance and accounting in the context of the increasingly global, competitive, and rapidly changing business environment. His activities span fundamental research in his field, fast conversion to education, and assisting leading edge corporations affect change.
